Just call me a Thinking Blogger

One of my friends gave me a big surprise Sunday.

Loula, who writes Les Carnets de Loula , was nominated for the Thinking blogger award. This is the link to Loula's Thinking Blog nominees
And, she then nominated my blog as one of 5 blogs that make her think.Thank you again, Loula for believing in this little blog !
Because yesterday I participated in the One Day Blog Silence, I let the PC get some rest. A Thank you for the friends that joined in and left their comments .

Here are the rules to the Thinking Blogger Award. It originated by a blog called ( what else ,) The Thinking Blog.

1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think,

2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,

3. Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger Award' with a link to the post that you wrote (here is an alternative silver version if gold doesn't fit your blog).
Here are the two badges available to cut & paste on your post, and your sidebar

You can chose the silver one or the gold :

It was hard to nominate 5 blogs. I know many fine blogs; some shine out from their personal and daily experiences ,others are fun and light hearted, and yet others have a passion that they pass on to their friends.
I thought about it very seriously...

The nominees are : ( In no particular order)

Mardé of Seevesplace
Titus of Le Monde de Titus
Amélie of AmericanAmélie
Madame Citrouille( Pumpkin Pie) of My French window
Abby of GreenAbby

Mardé is a thinking man. He can whip out texts on philosophy, politics or religion with an amazing ease. And looking at the number of comments , you have a good following for your thinking blog.I also enjoy the photos and views of life in rural Maine.
Mardé, don't lose your thinking cap; it suits you so well !

Titus does his thinking through culture. His world is filled with musicians, writers and other creative people. Titus does some fantastic interviews with these artists to understand their art. And he also installs some of his wisdom, especially concerning the environment.
Well done, Titus !

Amelie lives in NYC . Her writings have that sophistication of a city girl. But, believe me, she is a very profound and sensitive soul. Her blog is titled " De ce Monde secret de l'Amélie Americaine "Or, From the Secret world of American Amelie. I think that your title is well chosen,Amélie, because you are the most introspective blogger I ever known. It is a rare quality. You deserve this one.

I discoveredMadame Citrouille's ( Pumpkin's) blog in my early blog days. I was touched by this family blog. But, what first looked like an adorable family blog has greatly evolved.Pumpkin began sharing many of her thoughts with her readers, including on citizenship, parenting, and life in general. I think that you are a thinking blogger, Pumpkin.Keep on giving us food for thought.

For my last Thinking blogger, I chose a new blogger:
Abby, of GreenAbby is a passionate about her 2 favorite causes ; running and the environment. She runs also to raise money for Medical Resarch ( her next run is the 6 May). And she has some excellent articles on the environment.
I know that I will be learning many things from you .
She is a Thinking blogger, too. But, the one in Green and with running shoes on her feet !

For my nominees, follow the above instructions, if you wish to be nominated.I will be stopping by to see your nominees, too.

See you all soon.

Hi Barbara!
I glow with motherly pride in Abby, who you've nominated(and yes of course I'm biased as she's my daughter!)Your nomination coincides with my most recent posting about her & her chart in my "People of Goodwill" series.
I'm enjoying your blog too - you're a thinker and a true participator in life!

Hi Joyce & Maylis,
Honnor to the Hopewell family !
I was quite impressed with Abby's environmental articles. I know that she deeply cares about what she writes of.
I will have to come over and have a look at her chart .
I know that Maylis will have some super blog material, when she & Hugh will move.
I'am looking forward to reading about your life in your new home.

Love to all, and Thank you for your kind words :)

Dearest Barbara

Thank you so much for nominating my blog as a 'thinking blog'. What an accolade!

It almost turns up the heat to make sure that what I write really is worth writing. But this is a good, positive pressure as it helps me to realise that I do enjoy writing my blog and I want it to be more than simple naval-gazing!

I will continue to read your blog regularly; it seems very intimate and warm somehow!

Best wishes
GreenAbby x

Hi Abby,
You are also welcome :)
I found some fantastic things in your blog.I think that you can really make some of us think or rethink about ecology and the environment.
Put the heat on you?Just a wee bit ;) I feel that you enjoy your cause, and it is a pleasure for you to write about it.

I'll be checking in to see who makes you think.
All my best for you and Best of Luck for the run !
You can do it !!

What a wonderful site you have created. I like the touch of French phrases thrown in. I took a class in French way back in the 6th grade but have forgotten most but a few limited phrases. I just love the way the French language sounds. I am giving you the ol bookmark for sure for easy return.

Be well and enjoy the day.

Welcome, Danielle,
I was happy to visit your blog.
Thank you for your compliments. I enjoyed discovering your blog, too ! ihad a good time; and I will return.
I show some of my family's happenings in France. When we will start taking a few trips, I'll drop in some photos, too.
Stop by again & say "Bonjour ".

P.S.. that was cool that you did a little bit of French; but languages need work. It's easy to forget !

Take care,
